"It's My Birthday!"

Inspired by a 1040's Shirley Temple dress, lace insets on the dress front and sleeves has turned this classic little girls dress and slip into a lovely heirloom party dress.
The standard bodice has had a flat panel added from waist to hem at the center front of the dress with the pleated skirts added at each side. The cap sleeves are cut from pintucked fabric while flat edged cotton lace and lace trim form the sleeve cuff. French hand-sewing-by-machine techniques have been used throughout, and are detailed in the instructions.
Instructions are also included for the hand-made rosettes which decorate the dress front. A tiny lace edged peter-pan style collar graces the neck. The slip is designed to show rows of satin ribbon crosswise through the lace insets in the dress front.
Sewing lines for both Betsy and Lark are included on the pattern.
