Madame Alexander Doll Club
National Convention 2003
First Place Winner of the Design Contest

An original 1950's design for the modern 21" Madame Alexander Cissy doll by Marsha Olson of Perfect Patterns.
The three piece outfit is constructed by hand of pale shimmering aquamarine tissue silk (sometimes called silk batiste) and entirely lined with ivory shantung silk. Outfit includes a fitted summer dress with a semi-full skirt with inverted box pleats in the front and gathered to the waist. The bodice has panels of fabric hand sewn from the top of the pleat at the waist, over the shoulder and attached to the edge of the bodice in the back. Self fabric bows trim the top of each skirt pleat. The jacket is round necked and open down the front. It has bias cut darts in order to round out the bustline to perfectly fit the shape of the doll and has elbow length sleeves. The clip style hat is covered with self fabric bows overlapped to leave points of fabric to frame the face.

If you voted for my outfit in the design contest, many thanks!
