This class and pattern are for the purpose of giving you a taste of French Sewing by Machine and is not meant to be a totally authentic representation of a pattern from that era. Some modern methods will be included to make sewing your costume easier and faster. This costume can be constructed completely by hand if you wish, and a fine 'size 12 sharp' hand sewing needle is included with your pattern just for those taking this class.
Some hand work will be required in finishing.
At some point once the class is over, needles will no longer be included with the pattern as temporary special shipping arrangements have been made with my post office and are only good for a limited time.
Good quality 100% cotton batiste can be purchased on-line or from specialty shops that carry hand sewing supplies. Some quilt shops also carry cotton batiste.
Coats Dual Duty Plus is recommended
1/2 yard will be enough for the 16" and 18" sizes.
3/4 yard for the 20" size.
1/3 yard for size 16"
1/2 yard for sizes 18" and 20"
New links will be made available each week or as we conclude the discussion of each lesson. Watch for the announcement on the yahoo group list and then come back to this page. This page url is included on your pattern instruction sheet and is to be kept secret from the group list so that only those taking the class have access to the lesson pages. If someone asks on the list for the url, please tell them to check their instruction sheet.
